Located on the mid-hills of Waishuangxi, Siu Siu Lab of Primitive Senses looks like a mysterious wonderland secluded from human civilization. The studio’s creator, Mr. Divooe Zein, has used sunlight-blocking meshes traditionally used in Taiwan’s fruit gardens to circle a large, indoor, forest-like space. This unique design has won him a special acknowledgement from the ADA Awards for Emerging Architects. Zein spends 3 to 5 months a year in a primitive architectural space in the mountains of Ubud in southern Bali, Indonesia; therefore, one can say that Siu Siu is the outcome of another kind of architectural aesthetic that he admires.
