Avocado Lady is like an urban myth. It doesn’t have a store name but nearly every foreigner living in Shanghai knows about this Western-style food store. It’s owned by an impressive woman who is nicknamed Avocado Lady by her customers. Although the store is tiny and a bit old and tardy, you can find any kind of Western ingredient here, from all sorts of spices, vegetables, and imported fruits (of course, you can definitely find avocadoes here). It’s only a ten-minute walk from my house, so I come to this tiny shop quite often.
