Bao An Temple, or what the locals call “Matzu Temple,” has preserved old Taipei’s way of living. Street vendors serve old school dishes in front of the temple where customers can enjoy the food under the banyan trees. It’s not even 1pm, but you can already see locals at the next table enjoying stir-fried dishes with rice wine mixed with the local version of Red Bull, tricking you into thinking that you’re back to the good old times elder people talk about.
